I have made my home and established a private practice in rural Oregon with my family. Through my work, I am committed to helping people with relationship issues, overcome addictions to alcohol and drugs, illness, age related issues, trauma, depression, anxiety, and other stresses that affect all of us at some time in our lives.

I believe that healing is a collaborative endeavor that requires honest caring without judgment, and I cooperatively assist my clients in clarifying their goals for treatment. Rather than using one approach for all individuals and issues, I draw from a variety of methods to create a tailored approach for each individual and situation. As a therapist, I am warm, open, encouraging, and direct. I consider myself an active therapist, combining experience, education, creativity, and sense of humor with a down-to-earth, realistic approach to counseling.

My credentials include the following:

CERTIFICATIONS

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Certified Clinical Telemental Health Provider (CTMH)

Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP)

DEGREES

  • Master of Social Work (MSW), Portland State University, Oregon
  • Bachelor in Social Sciences (BSS), Western Oregon University, Monmouth OR
  • Associates in Art (AA), Umpqua Community College, Oregon

EXPERIENCE

I have over 30 years of experience in human services. Before starting my own practice, I spent 8 years as a juvenile counselor helping adolescents and their families that had legal issues and were involved in the family court. I have worked in the prison system, addiction system, and broken family systems. I have spent many years teaching (Criminology, Juvenile Delinquency, Group Process, Grant Writing, and many more) in numerous local colleges. I currently do therapy for a non profit as well as have my private practice. I currently teach dance and sing with my husband as part of my self care.

I have many years of volunteer experience working with the elderly, high risk populations, and have a non profit that I run called Pay it Forward.

I have vast experience counseling clients with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and substance abuse. I have experience with couples, groups, individual adults & children. My background enables me to be an extremely effective social worker who is comfortable counseling diverse groups of people.
